But Damn...those are some pretty harsh words for someone she's falling in love with. l feel like she's being kind of immature about this. She was married for a long time so she should know that they are not in any kind of relationship and understand that he can screw whoever he wants. Just because she is developing feeling for him doesn't mean he has to dedicate himself only to her.

Great chapter. I'm glad that they didn't get intimate just yet, for it's too soon just after Inuyasha's death and it would create only confusion and regret. They need first to sort their own feelings and expectations, come to know what they want for their lives before take a step that will only leda to awkwardness. 

That's kinda sad, hope it gets better for them. Update soon.

Awww, no smut. Oh well, It seems I just knew one of them would come to their senses before the deed was completed and usually that's Kagome. Always thinking and over thinking and not that Sesshoumaru were any different this time around. Honestly, I just wanted some hot blooded, lust filled smut. Hey, don't laugh! Life's a real drag for someone in my position and if ain't you getting any, you might as well read about it.

I do hope he's not gone too long, because before long she going to be hungry. I know, He'll go kill some unsuspecting animal to release some of that pent up frustration and take her back some food. and then he should apologize to her because she had enough sense to stop him before he ended up regretting what he did and he would regret what happened. You know, though many would say too fast, I'd have to say that in this situation it seems more than likely to happen. Here's Sesshoumaru that's a full youkai, with a fully intact animal instinct and then there's Kagome, even though she is human and is in a weakened state because of the loss of her husband, is a beautiful female with great power that he knows exists as they killed Naraku together and though she's in this weakened state she still has nerve to defiy him even if her powers won't work on him and her hits and kicks are useless. Thre has been many times where Sessh has actually saved Kagome from danger in the past, has allowed Rin to stay in her company and on the day when they killed Naraku he allowed Kagome to ride on Mokomoko inside of Naraku spider youkai when he heard Rin and InuYasha. He also threaten to kill Jaken when Jaken made snide remarks against Kagome. I've always believed he didn't hate all humans as much as he protested he did as the tachi proved helpful and informative during the hunt for Naraku.

Sesshoumaru has always hated the fact that InuYasha was thought of so greatly by his great and terrible father that he made sure Tetsugaiga would protect InuYasha from his youkai state of being and too Tenseiga's gift of the meidou would also belong to InuYasha. Seeshoumaru always feeling that the sword that heals and brings back life being rather useless to a warrior.

InuYasha getting a mate/wife before Sesshoumaru himself has and having a fulfilling life with her would also make sense for his jealousy to enrage him as Sesshoumaru was left as a very young adult to take over the ruling of the Western Lands when he himself was only wanting to wander in his conquest for power and strength so he could prove himself better than his great father.

I think it's been too long since Sesshoumaru has gotten himself laid and seeing Kagome's beautiful form even though he tries very hard to say it discusts him, can't help but fall for her weakened state, her defiance in spite of being grieved and sick, plus she's wearing his yukata with his scent on it and her as he washed her. She's fair game as far as Sesshoumaru's inner youkai is concerned. His brother is dead and during those times it was highly likely that a male relative would take her as their mate/wife.

And here I go rattling on and on, but I just get so caught up in the past linking up with the future and mixing well in fics that it's hard to shut me up. My daughter says I've got to be careful with what's fandom and actual cannon so I try to take proper notice. Hugs and Kisses...JEN

You are doing a great job portraying Sesshoumaru's conflict between his deeply buried attraction towards Kagome and his determination in staying alone and, at the same time, Kagome's need to be near a familiar face to mourn Inuyasha's death in peace, so that she doesn't feel completely alone in the world. You know very well how to exploit the inner dilemmas of the characters and convey them to the readers. This fic has great potential.

O wow...I think you've created great potential for a masterpiece in this story. You definitely captured Kagome's character. Even though the beginning is very sad and Kagome's sorrow is heartfelt, yet she fights to survive in her own way by staying close to Shessomaru. I believe you are on the right track with Sesshomaru's thought process. Even though he thinks Kagome a burden, his honor will not allow him to just abandon her. The physical attraction is bound to happen n it couldn't be with a better couple than the two!

That's just like InuYasha to make sure Kagome was looked after and knowing Sesshoumaru's strength and his life's longevity, it was a logical request. They may not have had the best of relationships, but Sesshoumaru had honor that was driven into him since childhood and since he did have the experience caring for Rin all those years then Kagome being a grown woman shouldn't be all that difficult...one would think anyway.

Once he gets Kagome to accept her grief and establish the ground rules to their relationship, I think Kagome will be fine. The woman needs to grieve and Sesshoumaru wasn't very honorable letting her, a human, get drenched in the rain and cold. Now if she begins to give up because of the way Sesshoumaru just treated her and falls into being ill, he's in for a handful of trouble. Maybe his lesson that she'd have to stand on her own 2 feet and care for her own needs if she follows him could have been postponed for another time, not in the rain just after burying her husband. Now Sesshoumaru is going to have a wet, sickly, human female with depression that he himself could have prevented just by getting her to a warm and dry place so they could talk.
