First, Chapter 10...So the disaster was averted and the big boss even more impressed with Sesshoumaru than he was before. Everything seemed to be going quite well even though Yamomotsu tried to rile Sesshoumaru's patience, hoping to make him show his anger and dissupt the party. It was excellent Mr. Tomagashi was close by to hear and reprimand Yamomotsu. I hope he fires him for his underhanded cruelty.

Now for chapter 11... Rin had me wanting to hold her close and try to reassure her not all mothers are like what she thinks. I, like many I'm sure, thought she wanted her daddy to have someone to love as well as she would have a mommy to love her and they'd be a family. To hear how horrified and angry she was that Mrs. Preston thought she wanted a new mommy was just so heartwrenching. I'll bet Sesshoumaru doesn't even know how his little angel feels. That'll probably break his heart. I'm sure it'll make Kagome break down and cry to know such a precious child was so emotionally hurt that she thought marriage meant that mommies and daddies weren't happy and mommies left their children behind.

After Sesshoumaru showed Kagome such an amazing evening, everything from earlier was finally being washed away and they finally had that perfect moment to let their feelings sweep them into an amazing array of possibilities...THE PHONE RINGS????Oh, how  mean of you !!! ....I know we can't have things move TOO quickly but we (all of your readers) were just as ready for that kiss as Kagome, OH THE HEARTBREAK, THE DISAPPOINTMENT (see the back of my hand against my brow, for effect)...You know how I adore your climactic endings!  JEN

NOOOOOOS!  *gasps in horror*  I knew there would be mistletoe, I prayed there would be mistletoe, and just when the kiss was inevitably close... the moment is gone.  Sometimes, I think God is out to get poor Sess.  

Another superb chapter, thanks for updating so much!  I hope they get that kiss in soon, Kagome is having the worst luck on her birthday.

They were so close . . . .  It really does look like Rin will get her Christmas present.  Why do I get the feeling, however, that Sesshoumaru and Kagome will try to avoid each other after this?  Hopefully there almost kiss won't get in the way of their friendship.  Can't wait until your next post!

On the other hand, I liked how realistic Rin's reaction towards Kagome becomming her "new mommy" was. After being abandoned by her biological mother, it's certain that a child, no matter how intelligent and mature, would hold some fears about being left again by someone who is supposed to care about her. I really liked that touch.

 A very beautiful story so far, and I'm hoping you'll continue to update regulary and make it even more beautiful!

Have I told you yet that this is your best story ever?  This one is very direct and to the point, more focussed than your prior stories, yet still filled with all of the dramatic events and colorful characters you are so good at portraying.  You just keep getting better and better.  I LOVE THIS STORY. 

Do you know that I love that you update so regularly? It's like you give me a little present almost every day :D No pressure though, just saying that I appreciate how much effort you put into your wonderful stories!

As for this chapter, I'm so glad that Sesshoumaru wasn't penalised for his gallantry and I love how cunning Rin is being. I hope Sesshoumaru doesn't catch on too quickly! Maybe Sesshoumaru can take Kagome out for an after-party drink to really celebrate her birthday and they can get closer. He could justify socialising with his employee further by saying that it's just a token of thanks for accompanying him to his work function on her birthday :)

As much as I like Yuri, I will lose all respect for him if he doesn't fire Yamomotsu!  After the stunt he pulled, then the words he said, he at least deserves to be on probation.  Heck, it sounds like Yuri needs to talk to some of his female staff members to see if they are thinking of filing sexual harassment charges against Yamamotsu.  What a jerk.  I certainly hope his Christmas is ruined.  Great update!  Can't wait for more!

I wonder why he would want to pass out the calendar as a gift?  Surely his boss would be pissed, not to mention Sesshoumaru?  And normally men don't humiliate the object of their lust -- whereas this stunt surely would.
