The Legend Of The World

Souta looked and looked for it, The Legend Of Promises, or as some even called it The Legend of The World. For many nights he searched and searched for this legend. His grandpa use to tell him all about it when he had been a child because he had grown up on the Shrine of the Shikon. His young 84 year old hands flew across withered old parchment, he picked it up slow and careful so it would not break or crumble. He smiled an old wrinkled smile, you see he was the person you came to for old forgotten fairy tales, fokelore, and of course legends. He had so many it took a while but he always found it. As he looked at the old scroll he decided to read it allowed one last time. His voice soft of age still rang through the large room.

"The Legend Of The World"

He closed his eyes letting the simple words sink in.

A jewel, the jewel, the Shikon, or Jewel of Four Souls. This jewel was not shattered as one had heard but instead just thrown. It broke through a barrier and it silenced the dead screams. It sped like the wind through this old castleand it came to a room. This room held her, not just a demoness but, The Demoness that had disappeared one century ago. This jewel hit the demoness. The demoness lay maybe a foot above her lavernder bed. Her raven hair spilled around her dead pale face. Her once sleeping sapphire eyes shoot open from the abuse the small jewel did to her fragile skin. She stood and walked away from the room down a long hallway to the front enterance. She walked out side for the first time in a century.

"Thy sun is frightened of her."

The golden blaze of the sun disappeared even though it was but mid-day. It was replaced by the silver moon that leaked of crimson.

"Thy moon cries for her in crimson

tears of blood."

Her sapphire eyes stared at the silver moon.

"So thy son still hides from this one."

"Even thy dead fear her power that even

she knows not that she owns."

She smiled a small smile that soon fanished as she walked what would seem to anyother an endless path along the forest.

"Rain has never touched her flesh that is

as pale as thy silver moon."

The crimson tears of the moon fell all around her yet not a drop hit her.

"Thy sun has never burnt her flesh. And

Thy wind has never blown her raven hair."

Her hair of a raven's wing blew soundlessly in the wind not seen.

"She whom has never been cold."

She shivered.

"Locked in a worn castle and protected

by a foreign cloth."

She turned her pale face back to the aged castle it crumbled to the ground knowing that no longer had a need to protect her. She crossed into a battlefield. It was small no more that 10 people lay dead.

"She can wake the dead in seconds so she

is never alone."

The demoness stopped in front of twn dead children. The female child had long raven hair and half opened golden eyes. The male child had long silver hair and glazed sapphire eyes. She bent over to their young bodies and lightly touched their cold foreheads. In just a few seconds they both awoke from what should have been their last slumber. "Rin," she said with a small smile to the female. Her face turned to the male. "Shippo."

"She smiles at the most simple of things, but

cries just the same."

"Mother!" They both cried hugging her with such love.

"Her skin has never been touched by blood. And

she has never seen it."

Their blood hit her flesh but she did not notice she only led them to a clearing where a male with silver hair, golden eyes and a cresent moon was standing. His cold eyes widened in surprise. This clearing was blackened by decay and blood.

"She is the one that shall melt thy ice, cure the

stone,help the poor..."

She let one simple tear slid down her cheek, falling down to the ground. At that moment the clearing was healed.

"........heal thy land blackened still...."

She ran into his strong well built arms and he yelled to her and the world. "My Kagome! Promise to never be taken again."

".......love the one who needs it most....."

"My love this one promises"

Souta smiled as he handed the legend over to a young couple. "The Legend Of The World, a good story do take care of it young ones."
