Chapter One

The sun was setting, and still she stood there. She was standing, gazing off into space with the bow at her feet. That tree, where they had first met. Their fates had circled, back to where it all began. And now she had done it. Sealed him there.

The awareness was fading from his eyes, along with the look of betrayal. Is this what Kikyou felt when she had sealed him fifty long years ago?

The wind howling at the window,

She knew she had to do it. Not so much for her, but for all the innocents he would have killed when he became full demon. But she still couldn't believe it of him.

Kagome looked up. The man she had spent so many years loving and for a brief time she had felt that he would stay. But she had been wrong, so terribly wrong. And in the end he had chose.
