A Leaf in History by teaforpsychos

Prologue

In any sort of war, there will always be one winner and two losers. Out of these three, two are interchangeable; political party number one and political party number two. These political parties are not just candidate and party against yet another and other runners in an election. No, an all out war, country against country, or even allies against axis. The third and final party, (despite the fact that all noticeable oppositions have been named) are the civilians, non-soldiers and soldiers. Politicians could be considered part of this category but they cause these wars for the most part and get assassinated or what not because of this. Their fault, no one cares about them. Unfortunately for the civilians, they will never win the war at any expense. They will only lose and in the most pitiful of ways for they are the ones holding the dying bloody men on the fields, shot the father to three diseased children and a husband to a dying wife across the field. They live through the trauma and carry it for the rest of their lives. Country and political parties? They will never have to soil their pristine white-gloved hands with any of this. All of the losses will be fully accounted for by the civilians and no others.
