Death On Four Legs (Dedicated to…) by tarahloveshentai

Love Of My Life

The Sun held its position at the middle passage of the sky, ready to turn from sunshine to moonshine.

Kagome brought herself up from the well. The girl's large yellow backpack strained her back to the bottom but she still pursued to the mouth of the well.

With a quick grip Inu yasha yanked Kagome from the well and sat her on her feet.

"About time Kagome, its getting late you don't have to waist all the time."

"Inu yasha where is everyone?" Kagome looked around, ignoring his rude comments.

"Miroku and Sango went to get Kirara a antidote for her fever...they took the runt too." Inu yasha only smirked about the pup Shippo being gone, his eyes closed and hands in the sleeves of his kimono he said "come on were going to wait in the shack we found."

Kagome fallowed the hybrid dog and let out an "Oh! I see."

They walked in silence, Inu yasha still had his hands in his sleeves and Kagome only watched his back.

'Why dose he have to be so quiet? He could at least talk to me about something. Inu- yasha, sit...that wouldn't help though...I hope he's not this quiet in the shack.'

Kagome had been making a pouty face at Inu yasha's back, but her being so worked up in her mind she didn't notice she had caught Inu yasha's eyes.

Kagome stopped when she noticed Inu yasha's feet in front of her. He gave her a stingy annoyed face and she back up startled,

"W-what!?"

"What's up with that face your making? What are you plotting?" Inu yasha eyed her from head to toe.

"W-what face?! I'm only fallowing you like you said! You don't have to make it a hassle Inu yasha!" She threw her hands onto her hips and eyed him the same way he did to her.

Inu yasha only further stared Kagome but threw the moment into a silent and awkward one by grabbing hold of her face and staring into her eyes.

Kagome wanted to say something but it couldn't stay on her tongue,

' Inu yasha what is wrong with you! Why are you looking straight at me? I...I cant look away from you, this is so unfair!'

Inu yasha came closer to Kagome in that silent moment, his body pressed against hers and her face in his tight hybrid dog grip.

'Kagome don't look so sad or be mad with me...'

That is why Inu yasha held her face and stepped so close to her.

Inu yasha's breath started to become ragged like he was pleading to her for something or growing impatient.

Kagome looked into his eyes and her eyes started to soften with a hint of sadness as she realized something that was in front of not only her but also them all along.

"Inu yasha...' Kagome spoke softly.

Inu yasha held an expression of coming out of a trance of some sort his eyes growing big with curiosity.

'Sit."

Kagome walked past the small indent in the ground, which was Inu yasha, she headed towards where she thought was the shack.

Inu yasha pulled his face out of the ground and yelled out immaturely, "Hey you temptress! What was that for?!"

Kagome held anger on her face as she walked her hands on the straps of her backpack, "You were thinking about Kikyou weren't you Inu Yasha?"

Inu yasha sat imbedded in the ground still, clueless as a pup was his expression. He quickly jumped up behind Kagome and, tried not to shout in her small human ear,

"I WAS NOT! You didn't have to go and say something like that stupid!"

Kagome stopped and looked at Inu yasha, into his eyes, "Inu yasha look into my eyes for once and say that. Just this once."

Inu yasha looked so uncomfortable to her, but she couldn't help it, it was the only way to know.

Inu yasha got over the strange uncomfortable chill that surrounded him and put his hands on her shoulders and stared into her eyes, "I was not thinking about Ki-...I wasn't thinking about her."

Kagome searched his eyes and was surprised that it was true. She had nothing more to say so she turned around and kept walking.

Kagome held a content smile and a deep blush that she hoped Inu yasha would not noticed, yet he did, he walked a little closer to her then.

***********

Inu yasha slide open the old shacks door to relive its burnt out campfire, lantern, and stack of hay.

'Ooo its already getting so late and I'm so tired. I wonder if Inu yasha is tired?'

Before the sun was starting to set, Kagome and Inu yasha made their selves at home around the small campfire. Kagome couldn't help but embarrassingly lean her self against Inu yasha as they sat in front of the fire.

Kagome's leaning caused her to slip of his shoulder relying on Inu yasha's fast movement to catch her.

'oh...umm Kagome? What...oh no. I'm not going to be able to stop my thoughts now.'

The moment was yet another awkward moment of silence. Inu yasha entwined his fingers with her and laid back pulling her on top of him.

Kagomes eyes where starry eyed and wide with the embarrassment and shock of what his action was.

'What's wrong with you Inu yasha? You've been acting so weird to me today!'

"Inu yasha...what...w-what are you doing!?"

Kagome pressed herself up on Inu yasha's chest, she felt uncomfortable and curious about what Inu yasha was planning, but she wanted to be free.

Inu yasha made a wide show of his fangs as he made a bark of 'Kagome' to make her stop; his nose touched hers.
