Chapter one

Kagome was searching for any demons who were around the village,she was searchng deep into the forest; Kaede told her that on her search she had to take the pufirication rite -which Kagome did like because she was in water.

She found the place where Kaede was talking about, 'the lake in which the water is always clean'. Kagome stripped herself off of her clothing and dove in the water. While swiming she sensed someone was there watching her.

When she resurfaced she quietly thought to herself, *Why are you here?*She thought not turning. Then she smiled at herself *I'll make him think that I can't sense him*

Kagome walked deeper in the water, and dove again; she did a summersault, then a handstand. She then resurfaced again, brushing the hair away from her face, her hair which seemed to be jet black, (A/n: like mine!) with white tips -it was much longer than the hair of ther former priestess Kikyou.

Kagome didn't sense him after that, but she looked at the spot where he was, on a tree branch. She got dressed in her worrior miko clothing. Clothing espically made for her, her outfit that came mid-thigh length, it had no sleeves; she also had armor -well a breastplate. She put her hair up in a ponytail, that came up to the back of her knees. Her blue-gray eyes and one demonic eye which looked similar to Inuyasha's but only appeared when she was using her power to attack of casting spells.

She made her way to the village, where she was greeted by all her young female friends, and the children also. But there was only one young lady that Kagome had put her trust and faith in the most, her name was Kumiko.

"Lady Kagome?!" The young girl smiled

"Yes Kumiko?"

"Lady Kaede told me to give youa message, she said that there is a demon in the local village that has called for a priestesses assistance; she would like you to exterminate them." Kumiko finished.

"Where is she?"

"What kind of question is that? She's in the hut, that she's normally in."She said sarcastically.

Kagome looked at her with a 'give more information' kind of look.

Kumiko sighed "She is in the hut, where Shippo is in front of playing and talking to the chidren."

Kagome stood and smiled "That's more like it, whenever you speak to me Kumiko be direct."

"Shut up" The young girl replied.

Kagome turned to the crowd of all of her admirers then shouted 'I'll be back!'

When she got to the hut Kumiko spoke of Shippo was just saying 'goodbye' to the children. He hopped on her shoulder when they were all gone.

Fingering the shikon jewelaroung her neck he asked "Y'know Kaede has a job for you right?"

"Why do you always tell me the obvious?" She asked Shippo gigging.

"I always don't tell you the obvious!" He fought back.

"Kagome." Kaede called.

Kagome walked in " Yes Kaede?"

"I trust that Kumiko told you about the village?"

"Yes I'll be leaving soon."

Kaede nodded. "You may leave now."

Kagome got up without a word and went to the hut in which she stayed in. She got her priestess sword that Kaede gave her.She put the sword on her waist and grabbed her bows and arrows.

Kagome called for Kirara, which she heard a lot of cries afterward. She then got the idea that the children were playing with him.

Kirara changed into his demon form, Kagome climbed on his back, and headed into the western village.
