The Beginning of Hate by Wolfwood

Kyoshi

1: Kyoshi

Running and running. Looking for a sign of help. No one was there. A branch scratched her cheek. "Aaahhh!" She cried running from the demon. "Someone, help me!" She yelled still running. She tripped over a vine. Lying on the ground helplessly she closed her eyes. 'Slash' "Err." The demon cried in pain. She opened her eyes. There stood a tall young man in front of her guarding her with is sword. Long gray hair, a white kimono. The man leaped towards the demon and cut it's head off. The demons head hit hard on the ground. The mysterious an put his sword back in its sheath. He turned around. "Are you alright?" He asked holding his hand down to help her up. "Yes, thank you." She said grabbing his hand.

"What is your name?" She asked. "Sesshomaru." He answered. "My name is Kyoshi." She said bowing to him. "Be more careful next time." Sesshomaru said kindly. "Ok." Kyoshi said. He started to walk away. "Wait, please allow me to travel with you. To thank you." She asked. "I'm afraid my journey is dangerous and I can not promise your safety." Sesshomaru said. "I'll be fine. Please let me go." Kyoshi pleaded. "Alright, but I should tell you I'm not human." Sesshomaru said. "That doesn't matter." Kyoshi said with a smile. Sesshomaru blushed. "You would trust a demon like me?" Sesshomaru asked. "You helped me so the only way I see you is that you are a kind and gentle demon. Because I think humans and demons are the same. There are both born in this world and live in it. They all start the same but they choose how to live and they live by their standards." Kyoshi said. "But sometimes you can't always pick how you live. You are told to live a certain way even when it's the opposite of what you wanted. What about them?" Sesshomaru asked. Kyoshi sighed. "I don't know." "Anyway, sorry about that. Lets get going." Sesshomaru said walking off towards the west. Kyoshi followed.

"What kind of journey are you on?" Kyoshi asked. "I received word that my father is in need of assistance." Sesshomaru answered. "Is he in trouble or something?" She asked. "Well you see Ryuukotsusei, my fathers greatest enemy is starting to take over the land that belongs to my father. We need to defeat him to regain what is rightfully my fathers." Sesshomaru explained. "I see. Well what ever I can do to help you I will do." Kyoshi said. "Why are you all the way out here?" Sesshomaru asked. "Well, my parents died years ago. I was sent to a village but nobody cared for me. Demons attacked the village. I had no choice but to run. That's when you found me." Kyoshi said.

They had been walking and walking for hours. They reached the mountains. It was nightfall already. Sesshomaru noticed that Kyoshi started to walk slower. "Do you wish to stop?" He asked. "No. I can keep going." Kyoshi kept walking but stumbled over a root. Sesshomaru caught her. Kyoshi looked up to his golden eyes. "Lets rest. We'll keep moving in the morning. Don't push yourself." Sesshomaru said leaning her down against a tree. He lit a fire. Soon after Kyoshi had fallen asleep. Sesshomaru kept guard all night. From time to time he would look over to Kyoshi. Sleeping peacefully. "I've never met anyone like her." He thought. The flames of the fire flickered and finally went out.
