I love that Kagome is pregnant because the story is still filled with angst and not sugary sweet. Sesshomaru's character is still true to his anime self even though he has come to care about Kagome. uh-uh... that was totally, completely, unforgivably out of character. i mean, up till now, we've seen, that while 500 years of existence have certainly changed Sesshoumaru, so yeah, we can't expect him to be in character all the time, but even so, throughout this story, you've built up a certain persona for him, and well, that whole "whose child is it?" thing just blew it out the window. surely a demon like Sesshoumaru, who's a good judge of character, and married a woman like Kagome, again, knowing what she's like, even if she confuses him like hell, wouldn't automatically think she'd cheated on him, on being informed of her pregnancy. Especially considering he's been about the only man she's been around ever since they married! plus, she's a virgin; he's the only guy she's slept with, and surely he knows that...blah blah blah....

sooo...i think you made a mistake there...Sesshoumaru's reaction completely left my head going ... whaaa....lol! sorry if this is harsh, i don't mean to be rude, but that's my opinion on chapter 55. maybe you had a reason for that, and if so, i'd really like you to explain it in the next chapter. speaking of which, where will you be posting once A Single Spark shuts down? and as for the rest of the fic, it's fantastic!!!!!

This is just a little help on the whole human pregnacy time line thing. I realize given your circumstances you can mess with the time line quite a bit.

Sex 2 weeks prior.
She's 4 weeks pregnant as such things are counted.
At 6 weeks morning sickness usually sets in.
Baby detectable with internal ultrasound approximately 6-8 weeks.
It normally lasts until 12-14 weeks or three months. Most women don't really start to show until about 4 months. (Naked under scrutinity not withstanding. Boobs start to get bigger almost immediately.)

I just thought I'd put in my two cents about this newest plot twist. Normally I would say that Kagome ending up pregnant is kind of overused, but in this case I think I have a bit of a different opinion. This is not the lame plot in which Kag and Sess see each other, fall madly in love in two seconds, have babies, Sess is all cute and squishy, etc. There are several interesting ways that this could end up. You will have to deal with the ... quirks, shall we say, of Sesshoumaru's character. Especially this slightly more modern Sesshoumaru. They are attracted to each other, but not necessarily in love, (btw, I love the random moments of tenderness that Sess shows Kagome) so that will need to be addressed as well as this new mating. And the thought of a rather stiff and stodgy Sesshoumaru dealing with a pregnant, hormonal, and pissed off Kagome amuses me. :) And then dealing with a baby? More amusement. So no, I don't think that this is lame, rather it opens up a whole realm of possibilities that a talented writer such as yourself could take great advantage of. So pull on your thick skin (if needed), good luck, and I look forward to reading more. I've very much enjoyed this story so far and I am eager to see where this all ends up.

I had to laugh at this chapter because I was one of those who automatically assumed Kagome just got fed up with the two posturing dogs and went home.

This chapter was a lovely surprise and I'm quite enjoying your story.

I have to admit that I could just see, Inuyasha (whom though he may no longer have a romantic interest in Kagome, has obviously not managed to disassociate himself from feelings of ownership and protectiveness for Kagome) doing something only he would.

I can see him having realized Kagome was Kidnaped only now managing to intervene with his usualy lack of finesse and as a result blunderingly interrupting the logical course of a Taiyoikai with his blood up, and his intended mate in a moment of ...high emotion.

Not to sound rude, but I am a Buddhist and it is my understanding that most Buddhists, including me, don't worship one god and it isn't our sole practice to understand any god. What our practice is, is to eliminate the four sufferings of Birth, Sickness, Aging and Death. While they are Buddhist gods, we don't believe them to be the ones to answer our prayers. Many non-Buddhist people mistake Shakyamuni Buddha (the "original" Buddha) to be someone that we pray to, but in all truths, his enlightenment is equal to our own and he is more of a teacher than an idol.
I like the idea of Sesshoumaru being a Buddhist, but he seems to arrogant and self-concerned to have the compassion that Buddhism teaches. He would seem more like someone to practices Shinto.

Last year I quite my job had some job because I was being harrassed. Had 5 days of peace and then my mother goes into the hospital. My foster sister and I took shifts untill she was out while looseing my job leads. Then my foster sister had me watch my mom durning the day after she out out. My sister thinking I had nothing better to do. Then my mom told me after a while to go and take care of my things and find a job. After that she pushed me away and the last I talked to her was in July. Well in Aug she died. That was a few week after I started to write my own story which helped me get through. Still looing for a job and in Jan I found one. Then I got really sick a few weeks ago and well because of that they let me go last Friday. Then my Beta flakes out on me and Have not gotten a chapter back in months. LOL Life sucks but one thing I have learned was that you can only look for the good. I hope you find the good in you life. I love your fic and I am looking forward to the next chapter, but in chapter 13, when Kagome asked about the Texans, I found that a bit biased and was slightly insulted for I visited it frequently to vist family and I love it. It does have many cities, not just rodeos. I am from Oklahoma and I hear the same comments like that about Oklahoma as well. I apologize if I offend, but I felt the need to point this out.

I am really enjoying this fic. Kagome is a bit egocentric .. like homie said... but ill wait it out. i really like the whole her and inuyasha wind up not working out in the end. because honestly ... i doubt that they would .. it might be all nice the first few years... oh but i digress. i am happy i decided to read this and cant wait to see where you take it. I think this might be your first fic, i think i remember it being your first on here anyway, wether it is or not your doing a great job!

Just a few things. One, they don't use dollars in Tokyo, and two, after 15 drinks (especially of the Sex on the Beach variety), Kagome would probably be DEAD. Or, if not dead, than at least in need of hospitalization. Do a little research.

Other than small issues like the ones above, I'm enjoying your fanfiction. However, it is a serious turn-off to read something like that and then go, gee, she's definitely never been to the bars, and definitely not a bar in Japan.

(Also, I never once saw anything like "Sex on the Beach" when I lived in Nagoya, but I only went to a few bars. Still, that is a very American drink.)

I forgot to mention I wrote the review after chapter 5, so it is only based on events up to then.

I do not doubt that being forced to upgrade to Vista caused your computer to commit suicide. It took that option as any old fashioned heroine would... to avoid a fate worse than death.

On to your story. I am enjoying it very much and do think you have a realistic modern day Sesshoumaru. It is Kagome who is causing me problems. She is a 30 year old professional woman who has been through a lot in her life. She is displaying the emotional maturity of a teenager. Granted that Inuyasha broke her heart, but it has been a number of years ago. Kagome, get over it. Souta is right to mock her. 30 years old and not able to admit to interest in sesshoumaru (which of course she has as that's the whole point of story) is emotionally constipated. If she is 30, then Sesshoumaru hasn't tried to kill her in at least 12 years of hers (to say nothing of the fact that she acts as though she expects Sesshoumaru to not have changed at all in 500 years." She also went bananas over the problem with her apartment. Her things mostly aren't destroyed. She isn't out on the street, but her shock caused her to get plastered on sweet froufrou drinks at her age? She has a mother who would put her up at the shrine. She is a professional and (presumably) pays her bills. She would have at least a credit card or two to cover some immediate needs. She also, in my opinion, is doing the entire "I'm going to be obnoxious & difficult just to hide my feelings" way too much. I mean, she screams like a banshee, and when sesshoumaru comes flying to rescue her she acts like a B==== to him and complains "no one needs to rescue me." well, then, don't scream Kagome. This sounds like a bad review, but it really isn't. I like the story, and the whole "Inuyasha comes to modern society, but they still break up" concept is very innovative. I'd just like to see Kagome act like the professional 30 year old you've made her in the story.

I truly enjoyed this story, and the twist of a future Kagome not being with the human Inuyasha. I like how you slowly built on Sess's desire to be with someone who understands his history. Who would have thought Sess would be patient enough to take care of her. Poor Kagome, neighbors are a pain.
