This is all for January's GMDDN. I may continue this story... still undecided.
Enjoy!
January GMDDN, Prompt 1: Alpha (300)
She was dressed in a black haori with a red cloth tying it at her waist inadequately. Her wavy hair was caught on a low ponytail, held by her own inky hair. She was being held inside a dark room, barreled by a powerful demonic barrier that she had been unable to break. Taken, she wasn’t the strongest miko… the ‘strongest-alpha’ one around was Kikyo…who broke the Shikon Jewel when she tried to wish on it.
Foolish woman.
After that day all miko had been sent to retrieve the pieces of the dangerous item. She had been among them, alongside her fateful demon exterminator companions, Sango and Kohaku.
How she ended up here was a tad confusing. She remembered a battle, demons and…well, lots of tainted youki. Now, she was being held and by the sounds of things outside…she wasn’t in a human camp. The confidence she usually held for she was a miko wasn’t working right now. She was sure there were hundreds of demons out there. Why was she here?
A tap on the door made her tense and she moved back from it when the barrier fell and a massive, black aura covered the entire room. Her breath caught up on her throat when a hanyou, surprisingly, came inside.
She couldn’t believe he was the origin of such evil and strength but a moment later she understood. He held dozens of Shikon shards underneath his baboon outfit…she now knew where her fragments were.
“Kagome,” he said while his eyes darted over her pale, long and visible limbs and she shuddered when his red eyes locked on her lips.
“Na—Naraku?” she tried…knowing it had to be him.
“The same,” he said with a wicked grin, “Are you ready to choose your gladiator and survive in the arena?”
January GMDDN, Prompt 2: Darkness (293)
Kagome expected many things: a human, a dog, a hanyou or even a minor youkai…not…humanoid youkai, much less prisoners of war…
A dark chuckle near her ear startled the blue eyed miko and she gave a step away from the dark haired hanyou at her side. Uncaring about her miko abilities, or perhaps he was that confident, he brushed her hair with pale, long fingers. “So, have you decided your gladiator?”
Blue eyes left the smirking hanyou and she scanned the youkai chained to the walls. Every time any of them tugged at them, the chains glowed and burnt them. She wasn’t sure what spell they had, but she was sure it was strong. Most of the youkai had crest from either the North or West, the more ‘human friendly’ youkai clans. She guessed they weren’t doing so well, if they were here…
Again, Naraku moved closer to her ear and chuckled, but this time he caught her before she could move away. His hands were so cold and his grip so strong that she froze…she was never trained to fight something like this. This was the hanyou who tortured miko for fun, who killed and maimed out of boredom… he was the devil. “Would you like that one?” he finally asked, forcing her face to a silver haired demon that stood calmly on a corner.
Kagome’s face paled when she realized who he had to be…the Western Lord… “No,” she was quick to say, he hated humans, “I want no gladiator.”
“None?” the hanyou questioned.
“None.”
Naraku chuckled again and patted her head, “I’m sure those eyes of your see as much as they say,” he finally said and crossed his arm, “Then Kagome of Inuyasha’s forest, you take what you win.”
