Dawn of a New Day
***Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or the characters of Inuyasha, I merely toy with them. But I do own all other characters, so don't steal them, and ask if you want to play with them.***
The sounds of panting could be heard throughout the forest, echoing off the trees like a phantom in the night. The girl ran as fast as she could, she ran through trees and streams, and even jumped a few logs. She wasn’t sure how long she had ran for, or even cared, all she knew was that she had to get away. She had thought that she wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore, but Inuyasha always knew how to ruin her happiness, by going to Kikyo. ‘Why can’t the baka see that she isn’t good for him? Why can’t he choose me?’ She thought with broken sobs as she ran through the forest. She knew she was lost, she knew it, but she couldn’t bring herself to care as she continued to drown in her sorrow.
~ She had just come back from saying her final goodbyes to her family in the future, when she had seen one of Kikyo’s shinigami floating through the clearing by the bone eater’s well. She had stupidly decided to investigate the area to find out what was going on. Slinging her giant yellow backpack over her shoulders, she headed into the forest toward the God Tree. When she had come upone them, it was to witness them in the deepest throes of passion, and from where she stood, she was able to make out his mating mark on her undead flesh. 'Stupid zombie priestesses' She thought as she turned from the intimate sight in front of her. ~
She couldn't exactly leave the group to go do what ever she wanted to, she still had to help complete the Shikon jewel, and defeat the worlds greatest evil currently known as Naraku. Even though Inuyasha was being a colossal idiot, she was not going to leave them to fight without her just because she finally knew the truth of what he was doing behind her back. So, she turned around and made her slow way back to the group, with a few new bumps and bruises from her mad dash through the woods. It took her a good hour before she got back to the clearing with the well, and from there it was a ten minute walk back to the village to await Inuyasha's return in the morning from his rendezvous with Kikyo, the clay miko.
It was going to be a long night, she could already tell. She sat in the corner of the hut, awaiting the first rays of the sun as it peaked through the clouds in the horizon. It was going to be a beautiful sight, one she wouldn't be able to relish as her heart lay in a heap in the middle of her chest. She couldn't believe that she saved herself for the Baka. She didn't think that she would ever find love again. He had broken her heart to smitherenes with his actions, and he didn't even know it. Her blue eyes had dulled to a dark navy during the night when she had been able to catch snippets of sleep here and there. Finally, as she peered through the window in the tiny hut, she could see the first rays of light as it danced across the sky, waiting for the final member of the group to rejoin them for another day of travel.
***A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger. Actually, I'm not... They are so useful, there should be more chapters up soon, but I do have a life outside of this, and a daughter. So Please forgive me if it is not as fast as you would like for it to be up. Please Review.***
