An: This story was written for Amy Zittlow’s Straight Tequila Night Challenge. These are my favorites writing stories based on songs but not truly songfics because I try to use words from the song but I try not to put the song in verse on page. Oh well I hope ya’ll like it, I tried my best.

Golden eyes watched as the raven-haired beauty took another sip of her white wine, he was entranced with her as he watched how her little pink tongue licked her full lips afterwards. “Who is she?” His velvet voice asked the bartender curiously.

Violet eyes followed the direction of his customer’s gaze and a small smile lit his face. He should have known that something like this might happen with this newcomer in her favorite watering hole. “That my dear friend is Higurashi Kagome.”

Golden eyes narrowed, a predatory gleam darkening his orbs. “Why didn’t you ever tell me someone like her frequented this bar? I may have visited you a lot sooner.

Needless to say the bartender was shocked. “Would you now? I’m not so sure about that.” this was a change for his friend and it was also obvious that the man did not know exactly whom he was lusting for.

“Miroku, have you been hiding her from me? Is there a reason why I should stay away from her?” He asked as his curiosity at his friend’s change in attitude overcame his desire to go to the young woman seated several tables away from him.

Miroku chuckled his violet eyes dancing as his slender hand shoved raven bangs away from his eyes. “You’re fine for right now.”

“What do you mean?” A velvet voice asked as he turned to look back at his friends sending silver hair spilling over his shoulder.

“Well she’s only sipping on white wine tonight, that‘s a good sign.” Miroku whispered so that only his friend overheard.

“What does that explain?” golden eyes narrowed in anger at being toyed with by his own friend.

“She comes around here a lot, she just likes to listen to the music and dance.”

“And…”

“K13 is her favorite song maybe if you play it you might have a chance. You see that wine glass in her hand means that she’s friendly and fun-lovin’ for now anyways. You‘d best hope that you don‘t remind her of him, Sesshoumaru.”

“Any unseen danger I should know about?” Sesshoumaru asked as he turned in his stool to face the raven haired beauty dancing in the neon lights.

“If you don‘t want her to blame her broken heart on every man in sight or try to start a fight then don‘t ever ask her on a straight tequila night.” Miroku said his voice soft and low as he remembered those few and far between tequila nights.

“Broken heart, who could ever think of breaking her heart?” Sesshoumaru asked his voice cold despite the obvious warmth in his golden orbs.

“An idiot by the name of Hojo.” came the simple reply from the bartender as he bent to pick up a glass on the counter to clean. Miroku’s violet eyes were somber, he knew his friend was not a womanizer and if he set his eyes on Kagome that must mean that he was at least somewhat serious in pursuing a relationship with her.

“She dated that idiot.” Sesshoumaru asked shocked that her class of men wasn’t of better quality.

“She’s the type to see the best in everyone besides she dated him until she caught him cheating on her with one of her best friends. He was the one that instigated their relationship after her and InuYasha split.”

“Let me rephrase their incompetent idiots. Both had the chance to be with her and both left her for another.”

“Anyways that’s besides the point every once in a while the memory comes back to haunt her and so she’s given up on guys.

“I think I can change her ways.”

“Maybe you can, so here’s another glass of Chablis, its’ her favorite wine.” Miroku stated as his friend looked at him oddly. “I’m even gonna go as far as to give you some quarters . Just remember her heart is fragile still try not to break it.”

“I’m not that baka, she’s someone I would treasure forever if I can win her.”

“I can tell you’ve got your sights on her, just remember my warning. Good luck.” Miroku said as he watched his friend glide toward the dancing Kagome.
