Staring out as the thick snowflakes splattered and stuck to the ground, Kagome sighed. There was once a time where the holidays hadn’t made her feel so hollow, not that her mind wished for her to dwell on such thoughts, they hurt too much.
It hurt to think about the flashes of long white hair…and those adorable puppy ears. It hurt to think about how oblivious and stupid she had been to give herself to someone that obviously didn’t care for her, but what hurt the most was the fact that she had found him in bed with another on Christmas day. Yeah, that had definitely hurt the most.
As she thought back on all that she hated about Christmas, she frowned. Christmas three years ago had ruined the holiday for her, stained the season with betrayal, so she sat at that window and stared as the snow quickly accumulated, a frown stone cold and sorrowful eyes marring her youthful features.
