Prince Charming Gone Wrong by Kristale

Chapter 1

A.N. I know that in all of my other stories I have a title for every chapter but this time I couldn’t think of something to sum up the entire chapter so I’m just numbering it. Any ways this is an A.U. story! Please read and review!

Chapter 1

Once upon a time in a land full of make believe and false hopes lived a girl that believed that her prince charming would come rescue her from the evil wicked witch that had cast a spell on her that would turn her into a black tabby cat every full moon. Only her loving prince charming could break the curse that plagued her. But what would happen if her savior never came? Would she just die a miserable person, with no one to love her? Or would she go through the impossible and become Immortal?

Sighing Kagome looked out the window of her tower that over looked the woods that surrounded the small castle that she was stuck in. Who the hell would be brave enough to come and rescue her? Or well stupid enough. Demons of all sorts littered the wooded mountainous land that she lived in. A man would have to be out of his mind to even what to deal with a girl that for one would be older than him, two, immortal, and three, can change into a cat. Picking up her brush she began running it threw her long black tresses. Screw it she thought to herself as she threw open the door to her chamber and stomping down to the library. It was the only place that allowed her some excess to the outside world.

Every day foxes would bring her new reading materials.  Books and what not, mostly things on subjects like politics, economy and science and occasionally a novel or two. When she walked in a little red fox was standing on his hind legs placing his latest find on the table for her to read. The title was in a different language this time. As she ran her figure tips over the strange letterings it became clear to her. The fox grinned slightly at her.

“It is Greek milady,” He told her as he placed a tattered scroll next to it.

“Oh,” Kagome replied as she sat down at the desk and watched the fox as he ran around putting books and scrolls that she had already read away, “Where did you get it?”

“In the Mediterranean sea,” he began before pulling out a map of the area he was talking about and placing it on the table. Helping him roll it out, Kagome, placed small paper weights on each corner before staring at the map.

“Right here,” He explained as he touched an island with his black paw. His green eyes twinkled slightly as he watched her.

“Sicily,” She read before picking up the book and gently flipping through the thick reed pages, “And the scroll?”

“Egypt,” He said pointing to a place next to a large river called the Nile.

Opening the scroll gently she smiled as the foreign writing became legible to her. The scroll was talking about a time when demons and humans lived in peace while the book was about a man named Hercules.

“At least it’s not about politics,” Kagome muttered under her breath as she leaned back in her chair and began reading about the great demi god Hercules.

Sometime later another fox strode in this one all black with a white muzzle and blue eyes darker than Kagome’s. A small bag was tied onto its back. At first she just watched as the fox untied the bag and began pulling scrolls from it.

“These scrolls, milady,” The fox began, “Are from the island of Japan. I hope you find them to your liking.”

“I’m sure I will,” Kagome replied as she quickly scanned them. The third one she opened made her breath catch in her throat. It was a painting of a young man that had long silver hair and haunting golden eyes. Two magenta strips ran across his cheeks fallowing his high cheek bones with a blue crescent on his forehead. Below that wasn’t done is very much detail. He was very handsome in her opinion. Smiling to herself she took the painting and the book she had been reading and headed up to her room. She only wished she could find out more about the Killing Perfection, Lord of the West.

Several hours later one of the foxes let out a frightened yelp startling Kagome. Quickly she bolted up from her bed and raced over to the window to see if it was something outside. Seeing nothing she tore open the door and flew down to the library. When she rounded the corner she saw the red fox lying in what appear to be a bed of its own fur but the closer she got the sooner she realized that is was blood. Someone was in the castle. That meant someone had been able to break through the barrier.

“Yuki!” Kagome cried as she ran over to the bleeding fox, “Oh Gods!”

She felt something pricking the back of her eyes. Ignoring it she wondered why would someone do this. Yuki would have never hurt a single soul so why would anyone try to hurt him?

“Oh, Yuki,” She cried as she pulled the fox into her lap, “Please hang in there, don’t leave me alone.”

“Milady,” The fox whined, “You need to get to your room where it is safe. There are intruders in the castle. I have failed you by not being able to keep them out. I’m so sorry, Lady Kagome.”

“No, no, no,” She countered, “Don’t be sorry, you couldn’t have possibly have known that there was someone in the castle.”

“It’s my duty,” Yuki told her gritting his teeth as a wave of pain washed over his face.

“Well, well, what have we here?” A deep gruff voice asked behind Kagome. Slowly she turned to look at the intruder. Her intruder wore fur leg warmers with a small strip of cloth that wrapped around the arches of his feet with a fur kilt and a breast plate with fur shoulder pads. His long black hair was pulled up into a high ponytail that fell down his back. Bangs framed his face and fell in front of midnight blue eyes.

“Looks like a fairytale beauty,” Another voice said as another man walked into the room. This one had short black hair that was just long enough to be pulled back into a low ponytail with a few fly bys around his face. Dark brown eyes danced with merriment as he looked her up and down but quickly fell when he saw what she held in her arms.

“Did you do that Koga?” The new comer asked.

“No but one of the others may have,” The first one growled before kneeling next to Kagome, “We might be able to help him if you let us.”

Kagome felt something wet run down her cheek which she quickly brushed at with her finger tips. What was this clear liquid coming from her eyes? Was it tears like she had read about? Swallowing she looked at the two men in desperation. What was she going to do without her most trusted friend?

“What have you done?” She growled as she felt the normal warming of her body that told her that she was about to transform into a cat. The men’s eyes grew wide as they watched her transform. Growling low in her chest she launched herself at the two men. The long haired one snatched her midair and stuffed her into a bag.

“Hurry and get the fox,” He growled to his companion as Kagome’s world became black and cold.

A.N. Well there’s the first chapter! Hope everyone likes it. Read and review please!
