The Wrath of R0ozilla

Disclaimer: Inuyasha is not mine. I don’t make any money off it.

Note: This fic is for the soon-to-be birthday girl, r0o-r0o. None of the characters will not be youkai, hanyou, or otherworldly. It is following along with the prehistoric times. I’m making it so that it wouldn’t be written in any form of text. This is for her.

The Wrath of R0ozilla

Long ago, before history was written, there was a kingdom in what would be Japan in the distant future. It evolved from a growing tribe which absorbed many smaller tribes after much in-fighting. This kingdom worshipped R0o, goddess of creation. The kingdom was ruled by Tai-sho and his queen, Getsumei. Both were blessed by her with two sons, Sesshomaru and Inuyasha.

Sesshomaru was the eldest, Crown Prince and next in line for the throne. It was by decree that the next king would marry the next High Priestess of R0o as Tai-sho married Getsumei.

Tai-sho and Getsumei ruled for many years until he decided to retire from the throne. He summoned all of his subjects to his announcement that Sesshomaru would take his place as King. They rejoiced at the announcement as they knew Sesshomaru would rule just as well as his father did. Getsumei made her own announcement that she would retire as High Priestess as declared by R0o herself in a dream she had the night before. The time would come for a new High Priestess chosen by the goddess herself. Then Tai-sho and Getsumei would take up new duties as the new King’s advisors.

The two front-running candidates for R0o’s next High Priestess were Rin and Kikyo. Both were the daughters of Izayoi and Take, who had trained as priestess since childhood. Kikyo, being the eldest, received more training as a priestess than Rin and many believed that she would take up the reins as High Priestess and Queen. That was what Izayoi had hoped. Take, on the other hand, hoped it would be Rin that became the next High Priestess.

Izayoi, unbeknownst to many in the kingdom, was a rather vain and selfish woman, hoping to become part of the royal family through Kikyo. The day would come when Kikyo would be chosen as High Priestess and eventually Queen by Sesshomaru’s side. On the other hand, Take secretly hoped that Rin would be High Priestess, but never let his wife know his feelings about it.

Sesshomaru decided that now was the time for the goddess to choose her new High Priestess, according to Getsumei, who received her final dream as High Priestess. He called for all priestesses to come to R0o’s temple the next morning one by one. From above, R0o looked down at the priestesses that arrived at the temple. However, none received her blessing as of yet until Kikyo and Rin stepped up.

R0o was quite intrigued by the two priestesses and looked into their hearts. One of them had a tremendous light which pleased the goddess. She then chose her new High Priestess with her blessing.

Rin was shocked that she was chosen as the new High Priestess, as were many of the subjects. Take was secretly pleased at the goddess’ decision. He somehow felt more purity from Rin than Kikyo. Soon, Sesshomaru would have Rin as his Queen as well.

On the other hand, Izayoi and Kikyo were furious, though they didn’t show it. However, the goddess saw the darkness in their hearts and was rather disappointed. She would not go back on her decision as it was final. It was at that moment that a dark priestess was born in the form of Kikyo.

Kikyo took after her mother in her vanity and selfishness. She knew she would never become High Priestess, not as long as Rin was alive. And so, she and Izayoi began plotting Rin’s demise when they left the temple.

Take looked at his wife and eldest daughter with a heavy heart. He knew the goddess would not be pleased with either of them. He hoped they would abandon their destructive plan before it was too late for he did not want R0o’s wrath incurred. As she was the goddess of creation, she was also the goddess of destruction in the form of a powerful dinosaur named R0ozilla. He silently prayed that she would somehow convince the two to abandon their futile plan. He knew nothing good would come of it.

A week after the new High Priestess was chosen, Sesshomaru took Rin as his new Queen with every subject in attendance. A feast of roasted boar was preprared. All was right in the kingdom, or so they thought. Among the subjects, Kikyo and Izayoi were in attendance. They looked on with envy at the smiling faces of Sesshomaru and his new Queen and High Priestess Rin. It was Kikyo who should be up there, not Rin. They turned and headed for their home.

One their way, a small reptilian creature with pinkish scales, appeared before them and pleaded with them to abandon their plan. Kikyo, being trained as a priestess, understood its screeches and purrs and her blood boiled. Then with a dagger, Izayoi stabbed the goddess’ messenger after having enough of its noises. Izayoi then headed to the family with the messenger’s body in tow. She then drained out the blood in a cup and drank from it after Kikyo’s advice that its blood would keep her beautiful. With hardened hearts, they continued with their plan.

After watching her messenger being killed its blood consumed by Izayoi, R0o shook her head. She now knew they reached the point of no return. However, she would wait to see how everything played out. The goddess then came to her new High Priestess in a dream, warning her of her mother’s and sister’s plot to kill her. Rin was saddened by this news but reassured her she would do her duty as High Priestess and Queen. Of course, the goddess knew she would to the best of her ability.

As Rin woke, she told Sesshomaru of her sister’s and mother’s plot to kill her. With this news, he ordered guards posted at their chambers, reassuring her that she would be safe.

For several weeks, Rin performed her duties as High Priestess, bringing up offerings and prayers, under heavy guard. Everyone prostrated themselves and joined in the prayers, except for Kikyo and Izayoi, who turned their backs on the goddess.

Then they decided to add another victim into their plan; spill the blood of one of the royal family. That would teach the goddess to pass up Kikyo for Rin. The question was which member. They decided on the most vulnerable member of the royal family: Inuyasha.

Inuyasha was very smart and creative for his age. He was very happy when his brother married the pretty Rin and took to her rather quickly. The young prince expressed his happiness for the two of them by carving drawings of them on the walls of his stone chambers. He and Rin were out in the fields with the royal guard when dark shadows surrounded them. The young prince was very frightened and held Rin tight. The guards were nowhere to be found. From the shadows emerged Kikyo and Izayoi. Izayoi grabbed the young prince, slitting his throat with the dagger she carried at all times in case any animals came around. Rin gasped as the body of Inuyasha fell to the ground. She turned to run when Kikyo blocked her path. Rin tried to yell for help but was silenced by a dagger to the heart. Tears formed in her eyes, silent questioning her sister as she fell to the ground.

The goddess R0o was deeply saddened by the blood spilt by Kikyo and Izayoi. Suddenly, Getsumei appeared before them, with dried tears in her eyes, glaring at the murderers with a fiery gaze. Through the former High Priestess, the goddess demanded their blood in exchange for the blood of young Inuyasha and her Chosen. Guards soon surrounded them and forced them to a cave on the outskirts of the kingdom. They tied them to the walls of the cave and left in a hurry.

Soon, the transgressors heard booming footsteps approaching the cave. Izayoi and Kikyo turned to see a pink dinosaur with the face of a beautiful woman. They soon realized it was the side of the goddess no one would dare try to incur in the savage form of R0ozilla as she roared out her rage.

The two murderers struggled with the ties as the dinosaur approached. They screamed in terror and struggled even more. But their cries were silenced as R0ozilla sank her claws into both mother and daughter, tearing them apart until two piles of blood remained. The massacre would serve as a reminder to all worshippers that this would be the result of any future bloodshed, especially those who would dare spill the blood of her Chosen. With the blood of Kikyo and Izayoi, she made several drawings of the history of the kingdom that would pave the way for the future of the land. However, because of their transgressions, the goddess had no choice but to cast out the terrible side of her that was R0ozilla to rule the prehistoric version of hell where their souls were sent, to undergo eternal pain and agony, never to enjoy paradise.

Getsumei was once again in a trance induced by R0o, stating that Kikyo and Izayoi were dead and that Prince Inuyasha and Rin, Queen and High Priestess to the goddess were at peace. Unfortunately, it was of no comfort to King Sesshomaru. For years, he mourned his Queen’s passing and would soon have another High Priestess and Queen to take her place. It was a young girl named Kagome, who had no experience as a priestess. They soon married, had many children and ruled until the goddess took their souls into the next world.

Generations later, a group of archaeologists found the intricate drawings in cave along the foot of what was called Mt. Hakone. They were intrigued by their detail. Little did they know that these drawings were made by one who was worshipped as a goddess forced to cast out her dark and terrible side. They came upon more drawings in another mountain cave which were cruder than the first. They deduced them to be done by a young child.

After their findings, they left, making sure to leave everything intact, unwittingly avoiding the wrath of R0ozilla.

End

Well, that’s it. I hope you enjoy this not-so-little ditty. This is for you, r0ozilla. Later. ^_^
