Moving on Part 1
Disclaimer: I in NO WAY own Inuyasha :( No matter how much it hurts
A girl with long beautiful Midnight black hair and deep brown eyes stared at the music video playing before her. “It’s perfect! Thank you so much Ayame-Chan!” She said smiling at her wolf yokai friend.
“No problem Kaggie-chan, believe me you just helped me pass my final with this video. They said I have real potential, and so do you!” She said with a giggle. “All the boys couldn’t help but drool watching it in class.”
Kagome blushed and waved her friend off. “Please, I just got out of a horrible relationship with a demon, I don’t need another one.” She said sighing just thinking of her silver haired, doggy eared, golden eyed ex. “I mean seriously, my cousin that I hate?”
Ayame hugged her friend and rubbed her back. “It’s alright Kaggie-chan, he’ll realize what he gave up when she finally forgets to cover her scent after she cheats on him with that idiot Naraku.” she said to her friend and pulled back showing her a fanged smile. “Kags she’s only got half of the power you have, if that, and she's a cold bitch. I mean come on. You’re the most powerful full demon Miko around… well the only one actually now that I think of it. He's an idiot for letting a sweetheart like you go.”
Kagome smiled and nodded, she shouldn’t have been a full demon but somehow her mother, a human Miko named Hiromi, could give birth to full demon children. Supposedly due to her own heritage which tied back to some of the most powerful Miko's in history. Her father was the Lord of the Eastern lands, and that was how she met her previous boyfriend, Inuyasha Taisho, who was the youngest son of Touga Taisho, the Lord of the Western lands. Her and Inuyasha started off as best friends when they first met as pups, but it turned into a full blown love once her and Inuyasha went into High school. After four years of dating, Kagome would have thought that Inuyasha would have asked her to mate him, instead he says he’s leaving her for her human cousin Kikyou, who was, and still is, the school slut.
Ayame handed Kagome a copy of the music video they were just watching and smiled. “Go get ‘em Kags. Make sure you record his face at the dinner when everyone watches it. I can’t go…. Gramps is kinda mad at me for beating Kouga up when he… yeah.”
Kagome laughed and nodded. “Alright Ayame, I promise I will. I’m kinda glad that my brother is my escort, I would have died if the Ice Prince had to be.” She said laughing at the thought of Inuyasha’s older brother being her escort. He hated her because her mother was a human, and yet she was a full demon.
“I know! I would have died when you and him would have had to dance at the opening. I mean he may look like a kami, but that boy has issues.” Ayame said holding her sides in a fit of giggles. “Sesshomaru seriously needs to get the stick out of his ass then he’d be perfect for you.” She said with a wink and quickly left the room before Kagome caught on to what she had just said.
Kagome had been laughing until she heard her friends last statement. “HEY! That is not true Ayame and you know it!” She said yelling into the dorm’s hallway after the demon she knew would still be able to hear her. Some other demon’s had come out to yell at whoever had yelled and hurt their ears but once they saw it was Kagome they went back to their room not really wanting a fight from the Hot-tempered Hime.
Kagome sighed and grabbed the bag that was filled with things she’d need over the weekend since she was being forced to go home to attend a ball for the millennia of peace reunion between the East and the West. Kagome decided to just do her hair and make up once she got to her home seeing as her dress was their also. She grabbed her car keys off of the dresser of her over expensive dorm room, she was daddy’s little girl and he only wanted her to have the best, and quickly ran to the parking lot so she wouldn’t have to say anything to anyone just incase they wanted to talk. Kagome was usually the most caring person, but lately she was moody seeing as she lost her boyfriend to her cousin, which was a rather large embarrassment since he broke up with her in front of the whole school.
Once Kagome got to the parking lot she smiled as she found her light blue Ford Mustang. It was her baby and she would never give it up. She had worked hard on it herself, she wouldn’t let her father pay for it, she wanted to buy it with her own money. She worked for a bar disguised as a human, which was very easy for her being that she was a miko Inu demon. She refused to give up even when some of the demons who came in tried to down grade her just because she was human but she taught them a lesson with just one glare that she learned from Sesshomaru.
It was a three hour ride to her house but with the top down on her car, the radio blasting, and the sun shining Kagome felt as if the time flew by. As soon as she parked into the driveway of her home she smiled as a little ball of orange flung at her. “Kaa-san! You’re home! I missed you Kaa-san.”
Kagome smiled at her adopted son. “I missed you too Shippou-kun. I have a present for you, but you have to wait until Rin gets here with Sesshomaru and her family.” She said smiling at the kit. She had been patrolling the forest that still surrounds the eastern lands when she had heard a distressed cry. They were too late to save Shippous mother and father, but Kagome had found a tiny baby kit laying in a basket not far from their bodies. Even during the 20th century demons and humans were trying to kill each other. Kagome had begged her father to take the kit in and she nursed him herself. She found a potion, with the help of her Kaede-baba to help her produce milk, and raised him ever since she found him on her sixteenth birthday. She officially adopted Shippou on her eighteenth birthday but he had always called her Kaa-san since he learned to talk.
“Alright Momma! Let’s go inside, papa and grama are waiting for you inside with uncle Souta!” the excited three year old said practically bouncing in her arms.
Kagome laughed and hugged her son to her chest and breathed his scent in just as he did to her when he doesn’t get to see her for a while. “Alright Shippou, calm down. I have something to show everyone at the party but if you’re good and stay in your tux I’ll show it before you and Rin have to go to bed.” She said in a motherly tone.
The three year old sighed and nodded. “Fine momma. I’ll be good.” He said smiling and jumped down to try and drag his mother into the house. Failing miserably, he gave up and jumped back on her shoulder.
Kagome laughed as he pouted on her shoulder and walked up to the front door of Higurashi Mansion. As expected as soon as she walked into the door she was enveloped into a large hug by her father, mother, and younger brother. She hugged them all back, careful not to squeeze Shippou and smiled at her family. “Hey everyone, miss me?” she asked with a laugh and attempted to get out of her father’s embrace. “Daddy, come on let me go. I can’t breathe.” She said acting like she was gasping for breath.
“Satoru let Kagome go.” Hiromi smiled looking at her daughter. Like her husband and daughter she wore the symbol of the east, a light orange sun, in the middle of her forehead signifying her as the Lady of the Eastern lands. “Kagome, go clean up and get ready for the ball. You have two hours before everyone arrives, I have your dress already laid out on your bed.” She said to her daughter with a knowing smile. Hiromi knew everything with the Inuyasha ordeal and picked out a dress that made Kagome look stunning, any man, demon or human, would not be able to deny that she was as beautiful as an angel.
Kagome smiled at her mother and laughed at her father’s pout. “I still love you daddy, but don’t hate me mum picked out the dress.” She said and ran upstairs laughing as her father glared at his wife knowing that he wouldn’t enjoy the smells coming from the men that would be directed towards his little girl.
When Kagome arrived to her bedroom door she opened the large wooden doors with ease and smiled smelling her sons scent everywhere. Even though everything was right where she had left it, Shippou had gone in there to sleep when he missed her enough. Kagome felt bad for having to leave Shippou at home, but she couldn’t exactly take him with her to school and allow him in the dorms. He would be to much of a distraction and a possible target for anyone who had a grudge against her or her father. Her smile widened when she saw the dress her mother picked out and her brown eyes danced with laughter. It was a floor length sapphire blue dress with a slit starting at her mid thigh. She loved her mother, and knew that she would probably have to keep many of the single males away from her during the night but it would all be worth it when she saw the look on her ex’s face. Kagome got ready just in time for her brother Souta to knock on the door and say they were ready for them.
“Wow sis, you look amazing. I don’t think I like it though, to many guys are going to be after you tonight.” he said in a brotherly tone. Souta was very protective over her and despite the fact that Inuyasha used to be his childhood hero, they had to restrain him for a whole week after Inuyasha dumped her.
Kagome smiled and hugged her brother close. “It’s alright Souta, I’ll stand by you all night and I promise, no guys for me for a while.” She said and crossed her heart with her finger and then stuck our her pinky for him to shake.
Souta shook his head then took her pinky and shook it. “You’re a nut sis.” He said laughing and pulled her in for a hug.
Kagome laughed and hugged him back. “Thank you, I take great pride in it.” she said sarcastically and pulled back. “Well, let’s get this over with.” She said with a sigh and took Souta’s arm. Together they walked down the hall and waited at the grand staircase to be announced. From Kagomes spot she could see Inuyasha standing near the staircase with a trashy looking Kikyou, probably trying to get her jealous. She laughed and smiled when everyone’s attention was turned to her and her brother.
“Announcing the Heir of the East, Lady Kagome and her brother Lord Souta!” the servant said proudly backing up slightly so Kagome and Souta could walk past.
Every single man, even some of the married ones, stared at Kagome with lust glowing in their eyes. She just smiled slightly and bowed at the Lady’s and Lord’s standing at the bottom of the stairs and smirked at Inuyasha who was staring at her like he couldn’t believe it was her. “Hurt’s doesn’t it.” She whispered so only he could hear and walked off with her brother.
Unbeknownst to her she had caught the attention of one heir to the West who had been watching her from afar ever since they were children.
