A/N: This is MissTeak's first attempt at picking up a challenge! This challenge was posted by Nobody, and it revolves around the "late" theme, includes a carrot and should be shorter than 600 words. My story involves an impossibly stubborn Kagome as well.
Here I go, so enjoy!
Title: It is never too late for this
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kagome fidgeted on the couch, trying to settle into a position that would make her more comfortable.
Her husband was late for the fourth time that week.
He was such a workaholic; she might as well pull off her Cartier ring and give it to his office desk instead.
She hugged her enormous carrot plushie tight and talked in a baby voice, "I see you more than I see him. I miss him!"
Work ended at six, but he always got back around ten. He's never late for work, but he's always late for home! She thought sulkily.
Well, he was at fault, so he should not blame her for the little acts of revenge she had planned. Two can play the late game.
She heard the familiar click of the key. It was Sesshoumaru. She could smell Davidoff Silvershadow Altitude, heavy with the base notes.
"Sorry I am late, darling. Was held up at work." He muttered, missing the way she mouthed his exact words soundlessly.
Same old excuse.
"What's for dinner?"
She kept quiet, clutching her carrot plushie.
Sensing her silence, he asked again. "Kagome, what's for dinner?"
"It's too late."
"Pardon?" He walked over to the couch, his handsome face caught in a befuddled expression.
"You actually remember you have to eat?" Kagome asked, fighting the growing amusement at seeing his incredulous facial expression.
"Yes."
He had the cheek to be indignant?!
"Well, it is too late for that. I chucked your dinner out."
He inhaled deeply and nodded a few times, as if making an enormous effort to take in the truth. He should have known the consequences.
His lovely wife was extremely pissed.
Time for Operation Kiss-and-Make-Up.
"So...how about going out for supper?"
Aha! He's trying to pacify me! Kagome thought gleefully, but her face was stoic.
"Too late. I've had dinner alone."
"A movie? It's been ages-"
"Too late. There's nothing I want to watch."
"A stroll in the park?"
"Too late."
"Drive out to the sea?"
"Too late."
Almost collapsing with exasperation, Sesshoumaru sat down on the couch beside his pretty wife.
"Is it too late for a cuddle?" He whispered gently, bringing her gently into his arms.
Her heart beat faster and her insides turned into a sweet gooey mix of marshmallow and fudge at hearing the sexiness he was oozing.
But he had to be punished.
"Too late." She whispered back, keeping her body still. His touch was so comforting, his scent masculine and assuring...it was almost her undoing.
They haven't been intimate for almost a week, and it was all because he was always late!
"What about this?"
He kissed her tenderly.
"Too late."
"And this?" He asked, before claiming her lips hungrily. His masculinity was so domineering, demanding her absolute attention. The sensual movements of his tongue sent tingles throughout, and Kagome felt the first stirrings of lust and desire pooling in her nether regions. She could only cling tightly to him as he worshipped her mouth.
They finally pulled apart, and she gulped before whispering stubbornly. "Too late."
Sesshoumaru knew he had her in his trap.
Standing up, he removed his coat. His tie followed, and so did the rest of his clothing in an impressive display for Kagome.
Her breath hitched, and her blood raced. He was standing completely nude, his very sizeable manhood standing strong and proud in front of her.
"Too late for this?" He whispered sexily.
Arrrgh! To hell with revenge!
She threw her carrot plushie to the side and eagerly jumped right into his waiting arms.
"It is never too late for this."
