Chapter 1

The blow came out of nowhere, striking Kagome down as pain spread across her left shoulder and back. She managed to turn as she fell, letting loose an arrow at her attacker, but the sharp, shooting pain down her left arm told her it would be the only blow she managed.

She sighed in relief when she realized the arrow struck true into the giant centipede.

It exploded in a brilliant flash of pink light as her reiki purified it.

But the pain did not. It engulfed her whole left side, spreading down until all she could feel was tingling shoots of pain racing up and down her arm, abdomen, and leg.

She was in serious, serious trouble.
