He woke with pain shooting down his leg. It was a blinding pain and he had to remember to breath. Taking in a shaky breath he tried to relax and not leave the house right there and then. He took one last deep breath and let it out before pulling the covers to the side and getting up to go to the bathroom. Finishing his business he tiredly looked at the mirror and saw himself look sickly. His skin was pale, he was very thin and his eyes had hard circles and he looked to have bruises on his arms and legs. Quickly he closed his eyes and tried to focus on himself and what was real. He opened his golden eyes again and there he stood with boxers and a white tee shirt. He no longer looked sickly and everything was as it should be. Anger rose within him and his eyes closed again not wanting to see the truth. A deep ache settled into his heart and it would seem he wouldn't be able to get any sleep tonight. He moved to his desk to try and do more work. If he couldn't sleep then maybe he could get some work done. He opened his laptop and a ding suddenly chimed signaling he had a new email. Wondering who it could be at this time he opened it and saw an advertisement for finding your soulmate and he quickly slammed the laptop shut. Pushing away from his desk he got up and started to get dressed. He would hunt again, and he would find her or die trying dammit.

The pain in his leg all the while continued as did his shoulders and spine. He had been tested for many years with no reason as to why he was in pain other then the possibility of it being his soulmate who was experiencing the pain. The rarity of the situation was surprising and somewhat understood. Only the strongest of mates could feel each other before meeting. To his understanding of this situation, his mate was close, very close and for whatever reason always hurt. He tried hospital after hospital but never once could he find her and if he did it was possible he passed her room and didn't even notice her. He held great power and was lucky enough to be allowed to roam the hospital but he wasn't to disturb the patients or their families. He understood the that and made sure to always respect it and any other rules that were given.

Sesshomaru stood outside of his front door and looks up at the moon still up in the sky, It would be another four hours until the sun would start to rise. He sighed and looked down at his car keys in his hand. Was this the right thing to do? He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The smell of the forest on his land was soothing and helped his determination. He would find her today or he will tear the city apart trying. She was always in pain and he would not let this go on anymore. He opened his eyes and walked to his car. He would start with smell and go from there. Whoever his mate was, was in pain and its not hard to fake the smell of pain. His father a most 4 years ago, after all his normal test results came back, had said about soul mates. He never said how he would find said soul mate but only stated the stronger the bond the more he would feel and possibly see. It after all was only legend and not at all seen as a common thing.

After a short drive he got out and walked up to the doors of the hospital near his home. He would attempt one more visit in hopes of finding her. He felt dread as he walked in, his anticipation for failure was high and he felt something in the air.

“Mr Tashio, how are you? Are you here to have a look around or did you need our help this morning?” The nurse asked after standing and bowing.

“I am merely here to look round.” He flatly said avoiding eye contact.

He didn't like to bother with humans much even tho the fact that his mate was likely a human. He spent the next half an hour looking around and gave up with no luck. Routine surgery, drug incidents and one car crash was all he found. He couldn't seem so find anyone with mysterious issues that lead to a hospital visit at all. The dread that he would spend his life feeling her and never meet here felt much stronger then it ever did and he decided to go to the store for a cup of coffee.

After he walked out of the convenience store walked away from his car and to the park right next door. He needed a walk and a distraction from his frustration. A walk in nature was exactly what he needed. The moon hung high above, he felt comfort from its rays and the trees around him. The grass sounded playful and the flowers released soothing smells. Fireflies were still out and he wondered how much longer they had till fall came. It was mid July and the nights were still night and warm. Rin, his adopted daughter would love it if she were up. His father had her for the weekend and he was grateful for it tonight. It was only 3am and he was out looking for a ghost is seemed.

He stopped suddenly when he heard a sigh up ahead. He looked up and saw a shadow figure sitting in one of the many benches near the lake. He walked slowly to the shadow and started to make out a woman in a sling with a cane beside her. Just as he was starting to see the side of her face he stepped on a twig and made her gasp. When she looked up to see who was behind her he saw the most beautiful striking eyes hes ever seen in his life. She went to speak and stand up but winced in pain and sat back down. Just as she winced was when he felt it. A pinch in his hip and then a snap. He put his hand on his hip and looked up at her in shock.

“Is it you?” He said out loud as he reached out to her.
