Sick little girl

The strong disinfectant smell, along with antiseptic chemicals, had already burnt the tall man’s sense of smell. He had sat in the hospital for days, trying to come up with ideas for the little human he had deemed to adopt. A small, raven haired, brown eyed 6-year-old girl laid limply in the bed, hooked up to machines, asleep.

As a light golden, brown eyed, platinum blonde, tall in a human appearance, business man sat staring at his daughter, he thought. A little girl of her age should have the energy to run, jump, skip, and play, like any other child. He would do anything for her to help her get better, he had already thought about giving her his blood, marking her as a part of his pack through a blood bond but his healers had explained she was a human child, that the cancer may have already made her body too weak to try something like that.

The man would wait for her little body to strengthen and then ask her about it. It would prolong her life and maybe receive some of his senses but that was a big maybe, but it would heal her cancer and protect her from ever getting it again, but in the end it was her choice and he would never take that away from her.

“Daddy, if I start getting better, there is this mermaid at an aquarium. I would really like to go see her.” Rin tiredly explained.

“You start getting better and I will take you to see her, we will stay for a whole week.” the man explained, she gave him a small smile, she knew he was worth his word, no matter how busy he was he had never broke a promise to her yet. With the thought of getting to see her mermaid at the aquarium she started focusing on getting her strength back and didn’t fight so much when she had to do her treatments. He could see her starting to get better, and his cold heart started to flutter with happiness.

A month later

The man sat at his desk going through some papers when he was interrupted by a knock on his closed door,

“Enter.” the man commanded,

“Katsuro, there is a Dr. Isao on line 2.” the secretary entering the office,

“Thank you. That is all for now.” Katsuro picking up the phone, the woman left and shut the door.

“This is Katsuro.” he answered the phone,

“Your daughter is well enough to go home.” the doctor explained,

“I am on my way, thank you.” Katsuro explained with a tiny excitement in his voice though the doctor wouldn’t be able to tell. Katsuro sat at his desk, he took the time to enjoy the news, with no one to see, he let a smile creep across his lips, he would be able to take his daughter home.
