The only thing I find weird is why Rin and Shippo keep calling Sess and Kag "chi-chan" and "ha-chan", you mean chichiue and hahaue? believe me, no Japanese use the word "chi-chan" or "ha-chan", and chichiue and hahaue is a very formal way when one talks to his parents. You should use "otou-san" for father and "kaa-san" for mother, trust me, I know Japanese :)
