Like I said, I absolutely love what you're doing with this story.  The elevator portion was absolutely lovely to read.  One comment: I think you wrote "licked" instead of "liked" once, so you may want to fix that.  

(Ie: "So, he did what every respectable man would do in his position. He rented a room in a luxury hotel and celebrated New Year. Fast and hard. Just the way he liked it.)

I only mention it because I remeber you telling me about your English!  I can't wait to read more :)
